Tuesday night Bible study will be led by Dr. Kinny Cosner and Bill Wilkin, using Dr. Amy-Jill Levine’s book, “Genesis: A Beginner’s Guide to the Beginning,” and the accompanying videos. Dr. Amy-Jill Levine presents Genesis as a living text, one that continues to shape faith, identity, and our understanding of what it means to be human. The study explores these key stories from Genesis: The Garden of Eden; Cain and Abel; Noah’s Ark; The Near Sacrifice of Isaac; Jacob’s Stairway to Heaven; Joseph’s Saga. Join with others for Bible study, enjoy the leadership of Kinny and Bill, and grow in fellowship with a group that studies, discusses, and prays together each week. Join Pastor Heather Harriss for a six-week series where we will use Pastor Sam’s sermons and Pastor Mary Jane Pierce Norton’s weekly reflections to explore the ways God shows us to resist hustle by being attentive to rest and renewal; simplicity and slowness. Each week we will use spiritual practices, discussion, and small groups to discover how sabbath is our holy resistance to hustle. The Bible 101

The Bible 101

Join us for a 6-week class every Wednesday night from 6:00-7:00 PM, September 16 – October 21 exploring the Bible. We will explore the origins of the books of the Old Testament and New Testament, how history and archaeology can help us understand the Bible, ways to read the Bible as ancient literature, and the various theological traditions we can discern within the text. The class will be taught by Dr. Brian Sigmon and will have ample time for discussion in small groups each week. In the final week we will have time to address questions that the participants want to explore in more depth. This is not a come and go class; participants should plan to attend for the full 6 weeks to get the most out of the small group experience. RSVP by clicking here. Questions?
