About

Welcome!

At Belle Meade UMC, we believe all people are created in the image of God, and God’s inclusive love excludes no one. We welcome and affirm everyone to worship, serve, lead, and participate fully in the ministry of this faith community. We live our faith together, nurtured by the grace of Jesus and growing in His love.

What We Believe

Mission

The mission of the United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Vision

The vision of Belle Meade United Methodist Church is to share the love of God and neighbor through Spiritual Growth, Missional Living, and Community Partnership.

Values

Spiritual Growth

As a community of faith led by the Spirit of God, we believe there must be diverse opportunities for spiritual growth. Whether through worship, bible studies, home groups, or Sunday School classes, we encourage every member to take ownership in the development of their faith.

Missional Living

Missional Living addresses our individual, every day commitment to share the love of God through our words and actions. Each of us is seeking to live with eyes and ears attuned to how we can best use our unique gifts and resources.

Community Partnership

As a congregation with space and resources, we are committed to partnering with people and agencies that directly impact our communities. “Partnership” expresses our desire to be approach ministry not as “what I can do for you?” but “what we can do together?” In this way, our relationships are equal; each agency or person has something valuable to offer the other.

Our History

For more than seventy years, Belle Meade United Methodist Church has been woven into the fabric of its local community. The church held its first service on Sept 24, 1950, at the Palmer School before moving to its current location on Davidson Road in 1954. From the beginning, our focus has been on our neighborhood and its families. As such, the first building constructed was an educational wing instead a chapel. In 1991, we finished the last building on campus with the construction of the Belle Meade Children’s Center. BMCC provides quality childcare and education for not only our members but also several families in the community. We have experienced growth and change over the past seventy years, and are thrilled to be a part of what God is doing in our neighborhood.
