We love and teach youth and families to be leaders and disciples of Christ.
(Describe who we strive to be as a community)
Inclusive: accepting of all people
Authentic: relating in a genuine and honest way
Christ-Centered: following Jesus and the Spirit’s guidance
Compassionate: showing love, respect, and kindness to everyone
Our youth ministry is for anyone in 6th-12th grades. If you have any questions or comments about the youth ministry at Belle Meade UMC, please contact Steve Stone.
Sunday School: 9:15-10:15 AM
We meet all together in the Youth Lounge for breakfast, an opening announcements and an activity, then we break into age-level groups (a Middle School group and a High School group) for discussion surrounding the sermon scripture text. The focus for this time is discipleship and delving deeper into what the sermon text means for our lives.
Confirmation: 9:15-10:15 AM
6th graders meet each week during the spring semester (along with adult mentors who commit to walk alongside confirmands during this journey) to prepare them to be baptized or to confirm their baptism and become full members of the church. They are taught beliefs of the Christian faith, beliefs of the United Methodist church, and what it means to be a Christian. The class concludes at the end of the school-year with a special service in Sunday morning worship with the entire church to celebrate them being confirmed.
Youth Fellowship: 5-7:15 PM
Our Sunday Night Youth Fellowship is a time for community-building; where youth grow closer to each other and God.
